Our mission is to reach out and help people to come to know the Lord
Jesus Christ in His fullness. Our goal, then is to lift the
Lord and savior, Jesus Christ highly, for He has said,
"And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw
"all" men unto me" (Jno.12:32)
Our message is inclusive to people of all backgrounds, not just the Pentecostals
of Huntland.
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor
free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ
Jesus." (Gal. 3:2)

Our Pastor, Sis. Vivian Nicholson, came to the Huntland Emmanuel
Church of Christ (Pentecostal) in 1962, shortly after her high
school graduation. In December of 1963, she married Bro Paul
Nicholson and together they have two sons.
Their older son, Tony is married to Tina and they reside in
New Market, Alabama with their sons, Alex and Caleb.
Tony and family attend the church here in Huntland where Tony serves
in the Music Ministry.
Their younger son, Fabron, resides in Cookville, Tennessee with his
wife, Angela and their children, Nathaniel and Madison.
Bro. Fabron is pastor of the Emmanuel Church of Christ at Rock
Castle, Tennessee. Angela works faithfully along-side and is
multi-talented also.
Over the years, Sis. Vivian has served in
the as Sunday School Teacher and led many church activities here at
our church. In 1969 she acknowledged her, "calling of
God" into the ministry. She has served in the Huntland
Church as lay-minister and District Youth Leader for the assembly
for some time.
For a period of seven years she
worked in God's service with Bro. W.D. Brewer, pastor of the
Elora Pentecostal Church. Her next place of service was at the
New Market Emmanuel Church of Christ, where Sis. Fae Harwell is
pastor. During this time, she served as a "help" as
lay-minister and Sunday School Teacher.
Sis. Vivian was assigned Pastor of the
Huntland Emmanuel Church of Christ in September of 2001. She
and Bro. Paul serve along side by side in both the spiritual and
natural aspects of the church. During these short years of
service the church has enjoyed dynamic Vacation Bible School
Programs, soul-stirring Christmas plays, Ladies Retreat, and ladies
prayer breakfasts.
Looking at natural blessings:
playground equipment added, the main sanctuary expanded, a
baptistery installed, a new rest room added, a new office added,
cabinets installed for Sunday School supplies, new tables added in
the fellowship hall, new picnic tables placed outdoors, new metal
roof for entire church, new steeple put up, and the list goes on.
Sis. Vivian expresses her desire to serve
the Lord in this capacity with diligence as long as the Lord
leads.
